Co-Founder, Program Director
I am incredibly fortunate to come from a family of immensely strong women. My grandmother was the greatest woman I have ever known; My mother is my best friend. From a young age, I was taught how positivity and paying-it-forward was the way you should live life. I also watched my aunt struggle with infertility and pregnancy loss. Although I was young and didn’t understand everything that was happening, the pain I saw her experience impacted me greatly. Years later, when I learned about surrogacy as a teenager, I knew instantly it was something I could do for a couple struggling to conceive.
My husband Mike and I were blessed with 5 amazing children – Our oldest son Brandon, our daughter Brooke, our son Carter, and our twin daughters, Teagan and Paige. I loved being pregnant and realized this was something I could do to help other families become a reality. After our twins were born in 2009, I knew it was time to begin my surrogacy journey. I have since had two incredible surrogacies. I feel honoured to have helped complete two families, giving birth to twins in 2012 and 2015. It was an indescribable feeling as I watched those babies being placed into the waiting arms of their parents.
I am grateful to have had these experiences in my life. I’ve been supported the whole way by my husband and my children. My surrogacies have always been a family decision – all seven of us decided we wanted to help these couples grow their families. Although my time as a surrogate is over, my time helping others to become parents is definitely not.
Liz and I started Fertility Match because we both believe very strongly that the right approach to navigating third party reproduction in Canada could drastically improve the experiences of all parties involved: the Intended Parent(s), the Surrogate and the Egg Donor. It was during my second surrogacy journey I realized this was also my calling: to support the women making the dreams of these aspiring families a reality. My professional background includes over 15 years of program management with the federal government, as well as extensive experience in client relations and business development.
